Inspiring voices. Evidence-based education. Meaningful conversations.
Restore is bringing together a carefully selected group of speakers who understand the unique realities of women in dentistry.
Our inaugural speaker lineup will be announced over the coming months. We're intentionally selecting leaders who combine evidence-based knowledge with practical experience, and a genuine passion for supporting women in dentistry.
The Voices of Restore
Dr. Kristen Yont
Dr. Kristin Yont, DMD, is a Calgary based dentist, educator, and leader in mindbody medicine. In addition to co-owning her downtown practice, she has served as the dentist for the Calgary Flames NHL hockey team for 28 years and is currently the lead dentist for their medical team. She also brings extensive experience in forensic dentistry and has contributed to professional regulation through her service on the Complaints Review Committee for the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta.
Dr. Yont is one of a select group of dentists in North America accredited to teach the SMART Program through the Benson Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. The Stress Management and Resiliency Training Program helps participants strengthen self regulation, reduce medical symptoms, and enhance overall wellbeing through evidence based mindbody practices.
Dr. Yont shares her work through workshops, retreats, and wellness programs for dental professionals, universities, healthcare associations, and business leaders. Her training includes Compassion Cultivation Training from Stanford, Mindfulness Approaches to Addictions through the Cambridge Health Alliance, and the Inner MBA program in conscious leadership. She has also completed Harvard’s Science of Leadership: The Brain, Resilience, and Mindfulness program, deepening her expertise in the neuroscience of leadership, emotional intelligence, and sustainable performance.
Dr. Nicole Thompson
Dr. Nicole Thompson, MD, FRCSC is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, sexual medicine physician, and founder of Haven Birth Program and Gynecology in Richmond, BC. She spends her days talking about hormones, menopause, libido, vulvas, and all the topics most people were taught to whisper about.
Dr. Thompson loves turning complicated science into practical, evidence-based advice- with a healthy amount of myth-busting and humour along the way. Her goal is for you to leave understanding your hormones a little better and feeling much more comfortable talking about them.
Outside of medicine, you’ll find her horseback riding, at a heavy metal concert, or reminding people that saying “vulva” out loud won’t make the room explode.
Carmen Christensen
Carmen Christensen is a certified life coach, adult educator, and dental professional who has spent more than 20 years working alongside high performers in the dental industry. She knows what it’s like to be the one everyone counts on, the one who shows up, gives more, and keeps moving forward even when something inside feels off. After years of people-pleasing, blurred boundaries, and putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own, Carmen’s light began to dim. She hardly recognized who she had become in both her personal and professional life. Through her own journey, Carmen learned she was not alone. Her experience became the foundation of her work today.
Carmen blends neuroscience-based practices, reflective coaching, and practical tools to help women and dental professionals understand themselves more deeply, shift old patterns, and create meaningful change.
Carmen is honoured to be a part of this retreat. She is passionate about helping you reconnect with yourself and discover that success is possible without leaving yourself behind.
When Carmen is not coaching or traveling across Canada with The Extraction Course, you’ll find her road-tripping to the mountains, spending time with her husband, their two adult sons, and their dog, Bauer, or enjoying time with friends. She is a heart-led optimist who practices what she preaches, living a life rooted in alignment, purpose, and connection.
